St George was not even English and never set foot here

And it would also disapoint a lot of people to know where he was really from.

No one knows where he was actually born, Israel is now the favourite with historians, but some think he may have been born in Turkey

st patrick was english slave returned to irland and hated drinking
hmm what do you think he would think st patrick day and the irish

people will always take it apart by analysing the detail.. for me, i don't celebrate St George's day for who St George was or where he was from, but for what, in modern terms, he represents....

It's like a tribe adopts a dance, or a face painting ritual to bring their people together.....

These days there are so so many people who want to bring the English down, it's ridiculous... and i just want to stand up and say "hang on a minute, actually, there's a lot of good going on here..... that's why millions of people want to come and live here".... We should pat ourselves on the back every now and again, and not feel guilty for doing so !!!!
