Skirting board...

Ive blocked a door up and plastered it at the top of the stairs, how would you end the skirting board? As you will see the end as you walk up the stairs....

Would you 90 it down at the end or do one of them fancy end stop doo dahs

A carefully cut and sanded bullnose at that left end would look acceptable

I'd trim the carpet a bit first.
I'd probably go with the top one too.
What's that little shelf bit showing just under the carpet? Normally the stair stringer would extend up and flow directly into the skirting.
