If you are entitled to a certain amount of disability benefit, only on the mobility aspect, you can choose to take that benefit in cash, to spend on taxis, other public transport, friends cars, etc. Or you can opt for a motability vehicle.
The lesser of the vehicles will take up most if not all of that part of your benefit. A top of the Range Rover or similar will only be financed by tiny fraction of the price with your mobility benefit. You have to foot the rest of the cost yourself.
