How's your luck with Premium Bonds?

Me - zippo (again) but interest from my chase account)
Misses - 6%
Son - 33%
Daughter - zippo

I have told you my recent annualised return.

It is typical.

Actually, you could have guessed that, because you can look up the Premium Bond Prize Fund rate. Averaged over time, that is what the DIYnotters will get. There will be short-term variations, and, very, very rarely, somebody will get a big one by chance.

That's how random numbers work.

Surely you know that?

So no you're not going to give me and the forum any FACTS then

Why anybody takes you seriously is beyond me

I don't think anyone does.

In any case people will not achieve the fund average due to the deviation. Thats how statistics work.

I did better than expected £400 on 2 x max

not great but had virtually bugger all over last 3 months

You don't have a need for anything else.

Except to moan and grumble.

It’s simple really, if you have a holding of £10 and win £100 it’s a great return, but if you have a holding of £50k and win £25 it’s a rubbish return

That’s why, when one of our family gets a winning I present the information as a percentage

Not being nosy, and I simply don’t understand why John D doesn’t answer questions directly - and this is why I think Notch7 is also him

You claimed you wanted to know my holding size so that you could calculate my return.

I have told you my return.

I wouldn’t be surprised if labour start taxing premium bond winnings, after all, no labour voters on here have any premium bonds worth mentioning, do they?
Don't forget that PBs are in the hands of the GOV - I wouldn’t be surprised if labour stopped paying anything out at all and froze everyone’s PB accounts for 2 years.

4 x 50 K

8 prizes £400

My wife and I got £225 and £625 so £850 combined.

We’ve had dismal amounts all year so rather chuffed

I know the returns aren’t great but it’s more interesting than just having the money in a high interest account
