Motability Cars

Different. They can get a lift with someone who has a car in that case.

And what if that someone doesn't have a car into which their chair, or any other equipment the need, will fit?

What if they don't have a car which the person themselves can't get in or out of?

It doesn't work like that!

According to your rules, they can have a car, unless they don't fit that car, in which case they have to rely on someone else who may or may not have a car, may or may not live nearby, may or may not be available, etc, etc...

Can see how ludicrous this sounds?

He doesn't care - he just wants to advocate cruel and discriminatory policies.

The whole point about the system is that the disabled person is exchanging benefit that they are entitled to (let's not forget that PIP is designed to help disabled people to do things they cannot do) for a vehicle that gives them the freedom and independence that everyone else takes for granted.

He doesn't care.

He is literally uncaring.

Stop making waves if they can get in and out of one of those why would they struggle in someone else’s car

So are you suggesting letting someone else get a car on notability then?

The problem with any safety net is that many will use it as a hammock.

There are two choices - tough love, where many won't get the help they want, or looking after everyone where many take the pee out of the rest of us. We're currently the latter, but we can't afford it so the former will be the outcome after someone responsible takes control of the country.

Obviously everyone would prefer a world where everybody got everything they needed, all was fair and the sun shone all day. But that world doesn't exist and never will.

What about fairness for the people who hand over 40% of their income, under threat of state-sanctioned violence if they don't, even though they can't afford the essentials they need? Clearly commie-socialism doesn't care about them.

It seems you need to be reminded of what you've been reading and writing

For all those saying that the invalid carriage would be acceptable, what about those disabled people who cannot drive and need someone else to do the driving for them?

So you think that nobody who is entitled to disability benefits could possibly have any mobility problems which limit how easily they can get in and out of cars? That there isn't one car on the market which someone who needs a wheelchair or mobility scooter couldn't transfer into and out of? That there isn't one car on the market into which a wheelchair or scooter won't fit? (Bear in mind that they don't all fold) That there isn't one "someone who has a car" and who's giving them a lift who'd find it impossible to lift a 100+kg chair or scooter into their car even if it fitted?

Because unless those things are true, we're back to the question I asked and to which you have no answer other than the disabled person is stuck never going to be able to go anywhere in a car because you won't let them use their benefit payment to acquire a car they can use.

Nice.

They could always catch the bus. Nice low floors on most of them, trained drivers who'll look after them and priority seats.

Just as long as they'll pay their £3 of course, like the rest of us.

TBH I don't know what "get" means in this context, and nor do you.

I don't know what the legal status is of the "getting" of a vehicle when the disabled person is a child, or lacks the mental capacity to enter into agreements, particularly if top-up fees are being paid, and nor do you.

Clearly it has to be possible for someone disabled to "get" a vehicle which is only ever driven by other people. Who the registered keeper is I don't know, and nor do you.

Bloke over the roads got a nice 4x4 Nissan car on the mobility scheme, hes ever so ill cant work, doesn't have much trouble cleaning his gutters out up the top of a ladder mind....
How much does he contribute on top of his allowance, for it ?
