Motability Cars

They should all have 'D' plates on them so that people are aware that they are disabled and make allowances for them, like they do with 'L' plates and 'P' plates. Mind you, that would spoil the looks of their Q8’s, wouldn’t it?

Stop being a drama queen. Nobody is being ugly and cruel.

You are. Just like you are towards other minority groups, who you blame for things you don't like but which are not their fault.

I have no problems with anyone who is disabled to have a small car to drive about in.

Why do they have to have a small car, especially when they often need a larger than average one?

If they want a bigger one then pay the extra for it. Nothing cruel there.

They are allowed to upgrade if they want. But you want them to have to upgrade from something which is a cruelly inadequate, meanly specced, insult of a car.

I thought the mobility scheme was to help people with their disabilities when they could not help themselves - if someone has 10 or 20k spare - why don't they buy their own car ?

Any other benefits you'd like to take away from people who have enough money not to need them? Pension, maybe? NHS treatment?

How do you fancy explaining to "wealthy" people, especially those already complaining about how much tax they pay, that they're not going to get the pension they paid into, nor NHS treatment?

No point anyone ever reporting then
So don't get wound up over people managing to get away with it fraudulently then.

I Know of 2 people who genuinely are disabled and can't walk far but struggled (both had to go to appeal) to get the payment

I'm sure there are some that get it wrongly. But it's not widespread and it's not easy.
