Hello. I have a flagged parking space at the side of my house with my 1.7 tonne car regularly parked on it. There is a manhole cover which can access the waste pipe with runs around from the back of the house and down to the street, via where I park the car. The car's front wheel is parked on the concrete which surrounds the access hole. The rear wheel is over the line of the drain. The top of the clay pipe is ~700mm below ground level with no issues currently indicated. I haven't excavated the area to see what covers the pipe further back. The house was built in 1970, so I don't know what the requirements for such pipework were at that time. I am considering getting an EV, which is 2.69 tonnes and am concerned about the extra weight over this area. Should I have the parking area excavated and some kind of support beams added across the area covering the pipes ? Would 3x2 flags work for this ? Thanks for your advice.
