Fabulous line-up innit Notch? I would like Liz Truss to join them too. The big one would be Rupert Lowe re-joining.

I managed to sneak past security and get into our doctors surgery last week. I tried to make an appointment for blood tests as I'm getting to that age. The receptionist/guard told me I have to do it online, I argued the toss , saying as I was here, she could quite easily book it, so begrudgingly, she did what she is paid for and booked it, but all she booked was a request for a chat with the GP, she said he/she will call me. Got a text a few days later saying GP will call me on Dec 4th, and from there they will decide if and when I have any blood tests. I did tell them my grandad and dad had prostate cancer, my cousin has been diagnosed with it, my brother has high PSA levels, didn't seem to make much difference to the urgency. Maybe I should not wash, grow a beard and roam around the south coast? seems a sure fire way to see a GP.

I do that already!

I saw a health practitioner who asked me to book a follow up appointment. I spoke to the receptionist. "You have to go home and call us to book an appointment," she said. "But I'm here, in front of you. Can I book an appointment while I'm here?" "No," she said. A passing doctor overheard and commented to the receptionist, "It's OK to book an appointment... this time."
Bizarre!

When Mrs Mottie worked in a GP surgery as a receptionist, she worked alongside a jobsworth dragon. A young lad called in to make an appointment. The dragon told him he had to make the appointment by phone. "But I’m here now" he said. She repeated that he had to make an appointment by phone. He pulled out his mobile, dialled the surgery, the phone rang, the dragon picked up and while looking her in the eye, he spoke into his phone "I'd like to make an appointment". He got his appointment. :ROFLMAO:

Our doctors have a strict online only booking system - which is completely hopeless

Walking in mid morning and talking to a receptionist normally gets things sorted, quickly and effectively
