Is this really the case?
You could have structured your post less vaguely.

Where exactly did she say this? Have you got an article?

Do you mean the immigrants made a contribution, after the war, rebuilding Britain?

Or do you mean immigrants built Britain with their hands?

Which one do you think is true, and which one do you think is false?
 
If their contribution wasn’t significant, the government would not have encouraged them to come.
They came as in the wind rush from the Caribbean to undertake the labour shortage that we had. I am saying that they helped Britain in that respect but certainly didn’t build Britain.
 
If your house was built between 1948 and 1965, there's a strong possibility that it was built using labour from the countries I mentioned.

And they built thousands more like it. And mile after mile of road.

And they didn't build Britain?

I think if you took away all that they built, you might start to revise your thinking.
