I was referring to the Normans, they, plus the Romans have had probably the biggest influence in the direction of this nation, our customs and cultures and the way we live our lives today.
But neither were invited, or came here on friendly terms.

Yeah, modern immigrants are much better behaved in comparison. Nearly all of them arrive legally for a start.

I would say the biggest influence on the direction of this country is by wealthy donors and wealthy think tanks

That was 2021 and it was happening much before that too -- they have largely all now left- gone back to the Philippines after upping their skills and English, then returning to very well paid jobs having had worked in the NHS and gained the kudos that brings . They came for their own reasons more than wanting to help.
Same with the Portuguese and Spanish
The only nurses to stay are the Indian ones who then bring over 20 members of family.

I would say they did. Post war, the Govt invited people over from the Caribbean, India and Pakistan and Ireland to help build houses and roads.

That was a period of massive growth and thousands upon thousands of houses and miles and miles of roads were built in the 20 years after the war.

They obviously settled and became part of society here too.

This Indian woman on question time claimed that immigrants built this country.

I thought why on earth would you put your name to that.

She obviously hasn't got a clue how bad our building industry is.

The quality of our housing is shocking.
The infrastructure in knackered yet we use sticking plasters for repairs.

We havr pot holes on our motorways. There are pot holes on roads that have recently been patched.

After Grenfell fire if the government dug to deep how bad the industry is they would have closed London down.

So no we blame governments for the state of this country.
And then industry leaders.

Why any immigrant would claim it was they who built this country is in the land of nod.

Shes a dual national, neither of which are Indian. Which is why I'm so confused by your statements.

My times in Hospital I think the Indian nurses stick out as being the most compassionate and good at their job.

Lots of nurses that wasn't.
