Im at the end of my tether....

10 bulk head led lights fed in 2 blocks of 5 in 1.5mm twin and earth.

The feed goes through a contactor and switches on with a photo cell.

Every night the rcbo b16 trips.

So far I've insulation resistance tested all the cables with lights disconnected, all clear.

Checked inside all the lights, all nice and dry.

Ive split them up and left for a few days no trips whichever bank I leave on, put all back on they trip about half hour after dark.

Today I covered the photo cell for 3 hours no trip, it goes dark they trip...

Im going mental, any ideas?

All I can think of is swap the photocell and rcbo?

Or maybe the contactor is causing it?

Changed the rcbo for a new one and it's been ok for a few nights now so fingers crossed...

Don't worry if no ones interested, I'll talk to myself

Thanks again EFLI thats my next option (y)

I have had a RCD trip, and tested OK, but changed anyway and no more problems, so now I do that early on, as the RCD tester does not seem to highlight bad RCDs. Maybe be new one would with ramp test, but old RCD tester only had ½ and full so would pass at 16 mA where new one with ramp test know it trips at 26 mA.

Yes im hoping the new rcbo sorts it, I wish I'd done it straight away it would/might have saved me a lot of headache......but you live and learn (y)
