Our boiler has just stopped working. There's no display on the boiler and no lights on the thermostat on the wall. I've checked wiring, no fuses tripped etc, it's just these two things that are dead. Any ideas before I call out an engineer?

The alarm goes off if you turn the switch off. I've just tried a new fuse but no joy. :(
Ah well, if you are getting power to the boiler but nothing is powering up, it is more than likely the PCB if it doesn’t have an internal fuse. What is the make and model of boiler?

The wireless thermostat receiver, is also not indicating it has mains power. They are normally externally powered, but on the same supply source as the boiler - which suggests the issue is external to the boiler, rather than an internal issue.

OP needs to try switching the MCB off, then back on, to make sure it is on, and recheck all switches and fuses are OK. Some MCB's/RCBO, don't flip all the way down, when off.

Just had a go at that but nothing happened.
