Damp in corner of upvc window

Hi, we're renovating our house at the moment and we've noticed there is a damp patch in the corner of our window after heavy rain. This is really frustrating because we've just paid to have the room skimmed.

Looking outside it looks like someone has removed a brick and just filled it in with mortar.

Any advice on how to fix this? Do we need to remove all the mortar outside to see what's going on? I'd really prefer if I don't have to damage the inside plasterwork if that's possible.

Remove mortar.
Cut a brick to fit.
You can buy ready mixed sand and cement mortar.
Fit the brick..
Point up
When dry silicone around window frame to seal.
Tips....
I'd put some masking tape on window sill so you don't scratch it up.
You can cover the new brick and surrounding bricks with duck tape so you don't make a mess of the face with cement stains.

Do you mean the outside? I think it does but it's hard to tell without removing all the sealant to see whats going on. Inside the window cill does go all the way to the corner yes and then the plasterer has skimmed right down to it
