Hey All,

Moved into a new house (to us) before the Christmas period, and the boiler has started to play up, yes, it's old, but if not budgeted for a new boiler, so if I / expert can fix it, it'd be a win-win.

The boiler has gradually worsened, but it basically fails to start up, and then a red flashing light appears, and I need to reset it. It then continues to run again for around an hour or two and then stops again, and I need to reset it. It seems to happen when we switch between hot water and heating.

When I reset it, it sometimes takes 2/3 attempts to start.

The pressure when cold is set around 1bar, it seems to have an automatic fill system on it, should the pressure drop and when hot site around 2 bar.

Any help would be great.

It could be a number of things to be honest. Get someone to check it over, you can also get a manufacturer's fixed price repair, depending on the make of boiler.

It could be something simple.

Thanks for the reply!! Just so I know what to pass on to the heating engineer, do you have any suggestions for them?

I'll have a look at the fixed price repair.

Hard to say what to pass on as it depends where in the sequence it fails. Just call an engineer explain the age, make and model and symptoms or fpr.
