Hi,
Had a standard boiler, not a combi, fitted with it's controls over 15 years ago. Boiler make is ideal icos he15. Have a service plan in place. They fitted a honeywell hcw80 room thermostat and receiver. Over a month ago it stopped responding. When I turn the dial the red led light did not flicker when it went past the room temperature. I replaced the battery. No response. The next day I just turned the dial and it responded. Great he says.
Now a few days ago it stopped responding again. I have changed the batteries twice, left it for a few days and no response. Left it for a few hours without the batteries and then after putting the batteries back in and waiting for a while there was no response.
The receiver upstairs, which I think is honeywell R6660D shows a solid red light.
From my research I read that these hcw80 unit lasts up to 15 years.
Question i have is my honeywell hcw80 dead or does it need to be reset or paired with the receiver again? I read there is a button on both units you can press for pairing.
If it's dead is there a direct replacement for the honeywell hcw80 so I don't need to replace the receiver? From my research they no longer supply hcw80 new, plenty of used ones on certain websites.
If there is no replacement what kit do you recommend to replace the hcw80 and its receiver and who is the best company in Nottingham to ask to fit it if the service plan company will not replace the hcw80 due to its age?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Drayton do wireless theromtats.
There are usually a few variants, so pick the correct one. I have a modern Bluetooth one

Sometimes all you need is a screwdriver to replace if a standard wall plate has been used. Post pics on here before fitting new one. For confirmation.
And of course pairing. The setup will probably take more time !

The thermostat shown is very expensive, in its day, it was one of the best, it has a feature should the base not see the remote in ½ hour, then it auto turns off the boiler, so not leaving boiler running if batteries discharge, and it also has a mark/space system where it turns the boiler off/on as it approaches the set temperature slowly increasing the off time, so to reduce the hysteresis with an on/off boiler, but completely wrong thing to do with a modulating boiler.

Looking at your boiler's instructions it seems your boiler does not modulate so it is the correct thermostat to use, but they are so expensive, if you can find one as now discontinued, it seems likely best option is to replace with a modern smart thermostat, which have functions never considered when the Y6630D kit came out.

The main upgrade is the programmer and thermostat is now combined, so instead of turning off, it can turn down, so on a very cold night it can still fire up the boiler, also you can today with linked TRV heads have no wall thermostat at all, and each room controls boiler independently.

So

is it really worth replacing like for like? Specially since it would be second hand. I have fitted the Drayton Wiser, it can be simply a wall thermostat and hub, but also one can expand with electronic TRV heads, etc in the future. Must admit I am getting lazy, and if I am a little cold, its hey google turn living room heating to 22 degrees, and the Google Nest Mini turns wall thermostat, and the two TRV heads to 22 degrees without my leaving my seat.
