Hi guys, I have a garden bar and wanted to build myself a dartboard backer board, however the only real place it could go was where the TV was. Had a 65" TV on a bracket so decided to sink the TV into a recess a by removing the plasterboard and insulation and reworking studs and plasterboarding back up ect... Added some black angle trim and was perfectly flush with acoustic cladding. I cut a osb board large enough to cover tv and covered with 9mm black brick effect cork tiles(cloth coated) mounted dartboard and surround. Used the left over off cuts of tiles around the back of the osb around the perimeter so osb board is not up again tv screen. It's currently fixed at top by 2 bolts which I put a couple plastic spin nuts with metal insert.
The problem with it is removing the board whilst I watch the TV for football match, is there a way to slide up and down in a track... And fix in position.
Any ideas people

What about some kind of TV lift, but used to lift the dartboard up/down rather than a TV? Me thinks this would have been easier to solve beforehand. Hindsight eh!

Very true but I honestly couldn't think of anything. The other idea is hinges on the sides of backer board and split into 4 pieces and like shutters, not sure on that though

Hinge along the top edge, pulley on ceiling, with rope attached to lower edge - then just pull on roped, when you want to use TV.
