As above, Ebay/FB marketplace offcuts or second hand kitchen worktop.
Nothing wrong with chipboard for a desk, maybe you could use the existing damaged one and glue/screw a sheet of 6mm MDF or ply underneath to strengthen it.

May just do that tbh. Will I have to have it cut to cover the full desktop?
