New Boiler Hive Receiver Help

Good afternoon all,

I recently had my hot water tank/boiler upgraded to a combi boiler.

A Hive system was installed alongside it, which I love.

My only issue is that the wiring is a little untidy and I would prefer it if the wiring set behind the receiver, as the old one did.

I remove the cover of the hive receiver and saw that there is two sets of cables, one set going to the new boiler and then 2 other cables which come from inside of the wall? What would they be? would they be connected to the fused switch sat next to the receiver?

My main question is, can I route the wiring through the wall and into the receiver at the back so no cables are showing?

Thanks,
Dan

The cable going to the Hive terminals L and N will be the incoming 230V supply from the 3A fused connection unit as you have figured

It's possible that the other cable may be left over from the original installation which may have been something to do with the old hot water system. Especially if the receiver replaced an existing two channel programmer.

As there don't appear be any other wires connected to the Hive connections it's impossible to tell. They may probably have to be traced physically to see where they end up

My main question is, can I route the wiring through the wall and into the receiver at the back so no cables are showing?

Yes there's no reason why that can't be done.
