Wiring a hive mini receiver to a Vaillant Ecotec plus 28C

Hi, I have seen a couple of forum posts on here already but they do get very confusing.

Can someone explain how to wire the hive mini receiver to a Vaillant Ecotec plus 28C please.

I have a 5 cable flex - I assume I just connect Live, Neutral and Earth into the boiler where the power cable comes in.
I then take the remaining black & grey to the terminal 1 & 3 of the hive mini (any way around).
Is this correct?

Yes, you’re mainly correct, but you fail to mention connecting the black and grey at the boiler end.

Will the black and grey go to No 10, 24DC room stat

Yes, that would work. I should point out that opening the case on that boiler forms part of the combustion circuit and needs to be checked for safe operation afterwards.

Thanks Chris, my son is an electrician and is Part P qualified however he has never fitted a Hive / Hive mini

Part p isn’t a qualification, it’s a building regulation.
