Ive worked at a school for 7 months, as a caretaker. Am I entitled to sick pay.

Got a cold, nothing bad but Id rather stay in the warm today.

If you are an employmee almost certainly yes. But quite a few employers in the public sector don’t pay for the first few days as an deterrent to staff who try it on, so check your employment contract

Thats what I was thinking

Some empolyers only pay SSP, we get full pay from day one for 6 months and half pay thereafter. Some school caretakers are employed by a seperate company so not garanteed the same conditions as a direct employment from the school.

Im employed same as a teacher but less holiday.

Statutory Sick pay is as per the above link, Your employment contract will state if you are entitled to anything else (e.g. 6-12 days full pay etc)

It is easter holidays and not much to do.
What there is to do is a little bit of hard graft. Id rather save myself than make me worse.

I will go in tomorrow as a teacher wants access.

I do more hours than I should so I dont feel guilty.
