It depends. If he sues the police for invasion of privacy, there's no need for any details to be disclosed.
And I would have thought that his brief would argue that for the police o disclose any details is further damage on his reputation, without any charges having been brought.I wouldn't expect it to get to court, the police would probably settle out of court.
Whereas if he sues the complainant, details are likely to be revealed.
