Donald Trump says US could withdraw from Iran ‘whether we have a deal or not’

US president signals growing impatience with a war that has sent energy prices spiralling

Donald Trump said the US could end its war in Iran within “two or three weeks” even if no peace deal was reached, in the strongest sign yet of the president’s growing impatience with a conflict that has rattled markets.

“We’ll leave whether we have a deal or not. It’s irrelevant,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office late on Tuesday. The US would do so within “two or three weeks” though a deal between Washington and Tehran was possible before then, he said.

The president’s remarks at a White House event came just hours after Brent crude, the international oil benchmark, settled at $118.35 a barrel, near its highest level since the start of the war a month ago."

He's workshoping his responses to see which are the most popular. Then he'll pretend he never planned on Regime Change/Nuclear materials recovery/Kharg Island/Owning Iranian Oil/Opening the straights of Homuz/Fixing his water pressure for his shower.

Id be surprised if he doesn't try deploying land forces now.

I wonder if there is a plot of land anywhere in the world that has more drones and missiles trained on it than Kharg Island.

strange because a few posts earlier you were giving out this "They'll land troops, seize the high ground, take light losses due to middle and drone strikes, win virtually every engagement and lose a few people at a time while the straights remain closed". Amazing strategy of yours, you change like the wind, you must be an advisor to Trump as he has a very similar strategy.

Oh I see, so one min you are telling us how the US will be putting boots on the ground when you thought that they would and even told us how. they would achieve this, very light casualties you said? Now you say it is highly unlikely that they will put troops on the ground? Which is it? and are we likely to still see very light casualties? Please refrain from the personal insults of "you illiterate goblin". It is against the forum rules and I should hate to have to report you.

You really believe everything in the media! Plus, what Don says! Don is crafty. He knows how people react to what he says. He is good at sending out misinformation. In getting people to go in the wrong direction!!

Rem, he has just given orders for yet more military to head out to the region! Another aircraft carrier, lots of troops....

If he backs out now he will always be known as the president that Iran defeated. Unfortunately his ego is bigger than his abilities.

I think you are confusing a poster on here with Trump and his barmy incoherent blatherings about the war.
Who know what the murderous nutter will do next.

You really can't understand written word can you? I can't tell if it's ironic or appropriate that someone as dim as you is employed changing lightbulbs.

If you read it again I didn't say it was unlikely they'd put troops on the ground in those quotes, I said the opposite.
