Replace an Air Push button with a handle on Cistern

I see from an old forum thread in 2015 suggested replacement pushbutton with a cable pushbutton


We have a comfort level cistern - and the cistern looks exactly like this


I have done quite a bit of work on a 2nd one we have , changing height etc , and also pulled out the drain mech and replaced washers before

so a handle would be better if there is such a thing, but i guess if i can just replace the drop valve and not have to change the front panel - that would be good , if the new one just happens to fit the hole -

You do get flush valves with handles, but they aren't compatible with the push button type. You'd have to change the complete valve.

 
Thanks , are the drop valve thing all standard size fittling - i know this cistern, valve just twists out

i will have to think about the hole we have now - much larger and goes over the bit thats missing at the top of the cistern
 
This might help you convert to a new fluidmaster cable flush valve, but check all sizes.
