Near death experience.

Try an aborted landing at Jomsom airport (or airfield as it was at the time) if you want to get your heart racing...

Watching the aircrew through the open cockpit door racing to apply the overhead throttles to get back in the air stays with me forever!

My last few holidays have been eventful, im beginning to think a cruise from Southampton might be easier.
We are doing a P&O cruise to the Norweigan Fjords soon, never been on a P&O one before but it was the only one we coud get on the date. You done a P&O one as I recall, any good?

I've done two, I loved it but I've got nothing to compare them to, I went on the Ventura and then the Britannia.

We are on the newest ship they have, it should be nice but never donne a P&O one before, I think they are more casual. We are used to luxury and suites so it might be different on them, not sure

The Britnnia was new when I went in 2016, it was really nice, two nights out of a week you have to get your tux out.....you'll probably have to hire one where as I own plenty.

I went for this style everyone was pointing and staring I think they were impressed...

I dont have anything else to wear, I even go ashore in mine. I have 6 which I take with me and will only eat with the captain.

We’ve done a fair few on P&O Azura - Caribbean, Western Med, Fjords. Did the Caribbean in 2011 and Fjords in 2019 and you could see the ship had gotten a bit tatty over the years. Perhaps it’s had a refresh since 2019? Going on a fly-cruise next Friday. Flying to Tenerife, visiting Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Gibraltar, Malaga and ending in Majorca. Flying home from there. Going with Marella - never been with those before. I think they are more casual than P&O as instead of a formal night, they have a 'dress to impress' night. I've long since grown out of my tux so I’ll just be taking a regular suit for the dress up night.

My first cruise was when I came home from working in South Africa for a year in 1982. Only a small ship - @700 passengers. The Atlas. It later sunk! It was cheaper than a one-way flight. Mind you, we were somewhere in the bowels of the ship and had a couple of pull down bunks! Great fun though and the Captain even let me drive it for a bit while he went off and did something. Honest to god he did but we were in the middle of the Indian Ocean with nothing near us for about a hundred miles.

Hello sailor!
