Angela Rayner has been cleared by HMRC over her tax affairs, leaving the way clear for a potential Labour leadership bid as she says she has made no deal with Andy Burnham .

You got to love the two versions she went with:

SKY: Angela Rayner has settled her unpaid stamp duty bill, paving the way to stand in a Labour leadership contest if one is triggered.
BBC: Angela Rayner says she has been cleared by HMRC of wrongdoing over her tax affairs.

All she had to do was pay and pay the interest.

Starmer has the ability to single-handedly call a general election whenever he wants. He's power-mad enough, he'll probably be threatening the rest of them with this, knowing they all know they'll all be out of a job.

Wow. Propaganda at its finest. Our local BBC radio station was reporting the same line this morning too.

I suppose, at the furthest reaches of the meaning of the words, you could argue that someone paying their bills would then be cleared of wrongdoing, but if this is the case then it's absolutely definitely deliberately misleading.

I hope the story becomes the story. If so the BBC itself becomes the story.
