People need to be prosecuted for this.

Its very likely tax payer money regardless of route it comes from.
So charity donations is likely tax payer's money?
Since when has the government been giving away money to individuals to donate to a charity of their choice?

I despair for the awareness of some to understand the world in which they live.

Yes, welcome to communism; umpteen 'non-govermental' organisations. State spending as a proportion of GDP is higher than ever, and no amount of Himmy's 'impeccable' logic can disguise it.

Factually incorrect. But that doesn't bother the McCarthyism beliefs of racists like spineless.
(N.B. intentional use of a lower case letter for a corrupted pseudonym )
State spending was at its highest during the Covid pandemic.

Most of these do-gooder charities are funded by government, not by donations from individuals.

They're public services in disguise.

Here's another of many examples...

There's no blanket national policy, but there are lots of local schemes quietly burning our cash.

Question... Do "free" taxpayer-funded driving lessons make driving test centres...

a) Less busy?
b) More busy?
c) None of the above for some complicated reason I can't explain because we're all one borderless world bla bla bla etc.

We don't know and can't trust the media to give the real data.
The figures quoted could have been the total for all children in care, irrespective of their status.
Every child in the care system is cared for under the same legislation - whether they were born in Britain, have been taken into the care system having been born overseas or are seeking asylum in the UK.

In addition the four fold increase from one year to the next is highly suspect.
2022/23 £3,500 Pays for maybe two people for lessons and test.
2023/24 £5,000 Pays for maybe three people for lessons and tests.
2024/25 £20,000 ?????? Pays for maybe 10 people lessons and tests.
Maybe 15 children in care over three years. Big deal.
In the 2024/25 financial year, some £20,143.86 has been spent to help unaccompanied asylum seeking (UAS) children gain their driving licence - either through paying for lessons or tests.
This amount has gone up from £3,567.74 in 2022/23 and then £5,028.50 in the following financial year.

These lessons and tests were for children whose asylum claim had been finalised.
only once a person’s refugee status and asylum cases are confirmed.
We don't know of the circumstances or why these children's lessons and tests were funded. It could be work or education, etc.

But the right wing haters don't care about the circumstances. They're motivated by jealousy.

These children probably had beards and grey hair.
