1 minute to get your breathing under control
10 minutes to swim to safety before your muscles seize up and you can't move
1 hour of consciousness

When I lived on Bondi, people would attempt and fail trying to swim between the two peaks.

Anyone who attempts to do that would have been a strong swimmer.

Absolutely awful.

Lived in Gould Street for a while back in the day, a short stroll to the beach...

Got caught in a rip one time, but luckily remembered the 'lay back' approach after the initial panic had set in...

Sadly in Brighton the drop off on the beach is not very well understood, and hence there have been many incidents there.

I lived Lamrock Ave and Hall St for a short time that Gould street is off.

I tried surfing once. Got dragged under. Never again.
