Looking to put a mezzanine storage loft in my garage. It's built from steel rsj's and single skin 6 inch solid blocks on edge between the rsj's. There will be an rsj going across one end and the floor joist's will be going into the web and then hanging the joists from the block wall on the other end. Would the wall be strong enough to hang the joists from? Tia

Hang the joists on or place them on top? The unrestrained top course of a garage for instance would not be suitable for face fixing.

I was thinking of attaching a board across the second from top row of blocks and then sit the joist timbers on this. Maybe it would be better to sit the joists on top of the blocks so the force will be pressing down on the blockwork.
