Counterfeit football kits worth £18m seized as Fire Service warns of fire risk

Counterfeit football shirts worth over £18m were seized in the UK during the course of the World Cup because of safety concerns, with the Fire Service warning the outfits can be a danger to those who wear them.

The cost of genuine football shirts is crazy, I have never owned one because I don't agree because of the money making raquet of it all. However it depends how much these counterfeit ones are as I would not be too worried about someone holding a blowtorch to me lit by a canister of map gas. Are they suggesting that if this happened to you in a genuine shirt that it would somehow be less dangerous?

My Girls have England & Chelsea shirts that are fake. Cost from 10-20£.

Eldest has a Chelsea shirt I bought at the Bridge for over £80.

Ill do the blow tourch test. I wouldn't be foolish enough to do this while my girls were in them or indeed do this test using Chelsea shirts.

Ill try and find a couple of Liverpool shirts to test.
