Removing a Waste Disposal Unit

Hi folks,

I am shortly moving house and would like to take the Insinkerator Waste Disposal unit to the new house.

The unit is fitted to the small bowl of a 1.5 bowl stainless steel sink.

What parts would I need to obtain from a plumber's merchant / Screwfix / Toolstation to allow me to remove the waste disposal and allow the smaller sink to drain?

Visible diameter is around 11cm.

Do I need a trap to go with it (I think S-traps or P-traps are now banned??)

Would the kitchen strainer waste work with a bottle trap?

It might work with a bottle trap, or p-trap. You may need the kit above.

As it’s installed, you need to remove it before it goes on the market.
Or make it 100% clear that it’s going.

You will effectively make the sink non functional so need to make good.

No, nothing is banned. Fit whatever is easiest if you are selling.

#1 House is sold (we sold on 1st May). The waste disposal is not listed in particulars and was not mentioned to prospective buyers, nor on the TA6 form (or whichever form all the fixtures and fittings were listed)

S-traps are prohibited for new builds as far as I am aware but can be grandfathered in older properties (which means they are allowed??)
