yes he was jacked up on the road as we were taking out all of the original lighting columns, one foot wrong or error of judgment can be catostrophic.
Wow. I'm sure there'll be a full enquiry and hopefully more safety margin gets somehow built into how these people work. They shouldn't be one gust of wind away from oblivion.

We have wind meters inside of our cabs, we have to stop at a certain rate but once we are in the bucket and in the air, things can change very quickly. It is always user error that is the cause of major accidents but smetimes things are out of our control such as lorrys or cars rear ending you as they react to slowly.
Some people are never happy.
I recently hired a crusher, and turned many tons of rubble into lovely gravel and dust that I'm currently turning into nice new stuff. It's currently in dusty piles on the driveway. A couple of days ago all was calm, then there was a sudden flurry of wind, with clouds of dust blowing from it past the living room window, then nothing again. Having dusty piles of stuff outside your window is a really good way of seeing just how unpredictable and changeable the wind can be.
