I go under for the following reason....

Kids will often inadvertently just spin the roll towards them, and if you have it 'over' then the whole roll will just unwind before you spot them...
 
If it's the opposite way of what you normally have does it bother you enough to turn it around ? (in your own house of course!)

Yup, having worked in a "previous life" for both Marriott and Hilton, "Over" is the correct way, and it's how I have it at home.

It's not how I was brought up though, and has led to a standing "silent joke" between me and my Grandparents. They have it "against the wall" (fnar, fnar), and every time I use the loo at theirs I turn it the proper way, only to find the next time it's back, and they do the same when they visit me. Not a word has been said, but I know I'm right!
