Trentdale Metal Shed

A friend had a metal shed. He found the noise of rain on the metal roof was very loud and with bedroom window open it disturbed sleep.

ahh thank you for that bit of advice. Should be ok here, as our neighbours and our bedroom is at the front of the house and the shed would be at the very rear of the garden.

I really need to get some photos done over the next few days and get some uploaded for further comments/suggestions on my project

metal sheds are well known for condensation internaly unless you have ventilation or insulation

ahh right cheers, i shall have a think on insulation..
also note this shed will be housing a quadbike, the reason i was saying 6 inch was for a suitable ground anchor to be fixed too. shall i still go for 4 inch base ?

also approximately what will be the cost of concrete ready mixed turned up in a cement mixer ?

i only want a guide price of this amount, shed is 10x8 but probably have area of 11x9 to alow for a small border.

Beware that condensation will still occur on the cold roof behind the insulation if the insulation is permeable to water vapour.

A ready mix part load I think would be un-economical unless there is a firm with mini mixers specialising in small amounts. Hiring an electric mixer and mix on site may be a lot cheaper and more convenient if access to the site is difficult.

Why not dig a deeper section around where the anchor is to go?

And make the base approx 75mm wider with a slope then finish with sealant

cheers guys, all your help and advice so far ive made notes on and will pass onto my dad too. ye i did think a section of concrete for the ground anchour could work well too.

i wil lget some pics done this week and uplaod them on here too
