Hi,
I am trying to wire up an external thermostat to a Main combi 30HE.
I have 2 old thermostats and 1 new one, neither of which seem to make any difference. The thermostat on the front of the the combi still governs what the combi does.
This happens even when the link wire is removed.
Is this normal behavior for the combi, since i thought it should not fire the heating at all if this wire is missing, and no thermostat is in it's place?
Could this mean a PCB problem?
Regards.

You are not the ex-RD Eugene I know are you?

If so you should have come to Kempton Park yesterday!

With link wire removed boiler should not fire for heating at all will still fire for HW .Check pin that comes out of divertor on HW demand is not stuck out or the microswitch that it activates is not stuck

great, I thought this was wrong.
I've had a look in the installation manual and found it.
I'll give that a go tonight.
Anything special to look out for?

unfortunately the pin that comes out of divertor on HW demand is not stuck out and the microswitch that it activates is not stuck.
HYas anyone any other suggestions?

I think that Eugene would have been geeky enough to have worked it out for himself

Does anyone know what the jumper settings for SW1 on the PCB are for and what they are supposed to be set at?
