I have purchased a Drayton Wiser 1 to replace my existing Drayton LP811 programmer with a wired thermostat. I have an Alpha CD25C combi boiler single system. I am confused by the installation instructions, since it initially just says:

"If there is an existing wired thermostat
connected via the wallplate, this must be
disconnected, i.e. remove the thermostat wires from the wallplate"

Later on it also says:

"a link must be inserted between the terminals where the thermostat common and call for heat wires are located in the wiring centre."

I really do not understand what this is referring to and the Wiser website suggested it was a simple task to just replace my existing. I uploaded a photo of my existing wallplate & thermostat.

Can I simply just remove the wired thermostat and pop on the new hub panel to the wallplate?

Thanks.

Remove the roomstat from the backplate and you will have a yellow wire (that is in 4 at the moment) left floating, move it to 3 and your done.

Excellent! Just done that and it has worked thanks! Makes sense since the thermostat is effectively connecting the red and yellow when it gets cold! Cheers!
