I have a CM927 wireless and my son has the earlier CM67 wireless.
1. The optimization works
2. Temperature is kept more constant, probably within less than one degree.
3. Over-riding, say keeping on for a party, is easy.
4. The wife can put the temp up easily and it will reset to the programmed temp at the next time slot.
Don't forget The CM900 series are single channel devices so, if you have a conventional HW cylinder, you will need to retain the old time clock to control HW on and off times.

It might be obvious to you as you are a heating engineer. Too often I come across people that need the obvious explaining. Until I have some dialog from the OP I have little indication of what their level of understanding is. I frequently come across people who think it is best to leave their immersion heater on 24/7.
I have highlighted the word also in my text. This indicates that the factor of time has been added to the factor of temperature in Laymans terms.
OK this is a fancy toy and has many features but when all is said and done it only switches on or off based on the time and temperature.

It was the turn on or off that I was questioning. This could suggest that the boiler would light up when the time clock turned the system on and vice versa.
