Went to one of these today on a breakdown. walked in seen boiler and the look on my face must of been enough  , lady says, "Oh no, please dont say you wont touch these". Well erm  , "Please I`ve been without heating and hot water since Friday, had three others walk in see the boiler and turn round and leave".

So I went for it, it turned out to be the TC. Tried a universal with no joy.
Nipped to part supplier and to my shock/horror the TC comes in a Kit  . containing TC, FFD interupter leads.

Do any of you chaps Know why it comes in a kit and not just the TC :?:

It's a pretext for charging a whole lot of money for what would normally be a reasonably inexpensive part. Spare parts pricing is just a racket.

I think the saunier's over the last 2 yr have been good, the thema ive fitted 11 since start of november and for £525. I can tell the customers its a sedbuk (a) combi, and apart from the built in f/loop being slow on a couple, there great . I know there not great for the price on spares but still a good option to give customers

My guess is that if you sell the boiler cheap, you make the parts expensive and poor quality so you still make heaps of money. I do work on them if need be, but warn the client repeatedly that the parts are extortionate, and likely to break, crack or split when you take them out. Fortunately not a lot of these in my area

Chris/Ben see what you mean about the parts racket, dont understand why an interrupter and ffd are included in the kit.

They could just charge £35 for the TC  , lets face it ffds rarely fail unless exposed to eccesive heat, and likewise the interupter leads.

Still I changed the lot, just wondered if it was some admittance on faulty parts, but then parts for that model will be off the shelf soon.

Bob if I was to offer a customer a cheaper alternative it would be a Biasi or Ravenheat
