Hi All,
Had a garden room built last year, Now, this is the time of the year we get high winds and today is no exception.

Inside the garden room the whistling is deafening, I have narrowed the source of the noise down to the internal spotlights. Basically it's whistling through the fittings.

This led me to look outside where i noticed a gap between the top of the wall and the start of the roof, fascia and soffit level. As pictured
I presume this is where the wind is getting in and swirling around the roof hence the noise.

Do i need to run a bead of silicon, sealing wall to fascia and preventing the wind from getting in or will this cause condensation problems as the plasterer advised me when it was built ???
If so, white or clear ????

If that soffit board doesn`t go in past wallhead arris it would then be like a void. That would hinder you in doing a proper job on it. The proper way would be to Caulk the joint with Polyethylene foam called Delrod then seal it in a white Low Mod silicone. Alternatively you can buy the foam in a sheet and cut in strips to suitable size........it should be slightly wider than joint for a compressed fit. If any sections are tighter than the one in pic you may not need the foam.

The foam gives you something to gun the sealant against and keep it stable until curing. You are aiming for 10mm depth of sealant finished flush with brickwork. If you are not confident of keeping it from going on brickwork then use masking tape. Wasps will get in those joints.

Cheers for the reply, how do i check this, How much should it go in on average, I think by memory i can get 2 thirds of my finger in before i feel the edges.
Where can i bet the rest of the gear you describe from ?
