Hello
I have a baxi Combi 80 eco and recently it decided to stop working. It does not produce any hot water or central heating. When anything is engaged it seems to engage the pump but no ignition occurs. The power light only comes on. I have tried resetting but with no joy.

No nasty noises, just no ignition of the gas.

Can anyone help?

I jjst want an idea of what might be wrong to decide if I should replace or fix and also not to be ripped off by a rogue plumber.

Check the over heat stat on the flow pipe,if it is the manually reset type, reset it.

Hello
It was that, simply pressed it and all is fine.

Why would this trip?

What are these boilers like, do i need to take any precautions on it?

It has overheated for some reason, there are a few, however you could remadie the problem by fitting part number 5115349

what is this part?
Is it something that needs to be fitted in by a corgi registered engineer?

Thanks for the help so, you have saved me an unneccessary bill

Yes corgi to fit, it is an updated overheat stat that works in a slightly different way to the one you have fitted,i.e no need to reset it.But it
would be good to find out why the overheat occured.

Most common cause of o/h stat tripping is letting system pressure go down to zero!!!

had one of these tripping loads. fitted new type o/h stat and aint tripped in two years.thats probably one of the reasons why baxi changed it.
