If I was asked just to test an rcd for a friend, just to confirm it works, no paperwork etc

Does anyone know where it is actually stated that an Rcd has to be tested
At both 0 and 180deg
I cannot find my GN3 book at present

Providing both were under 200ms
what would be the result the higher figure or the average of the two.

In the real testing world is the higher one usually the same angle or does it alternate
Thanks

200ms max for a standard BS 4293, 300ms max for a BSEN61008 or 9. If used for supplementary protection against direct contact the RCD must trip within 40ms at 5x rated current.

sorry
Maybe misled you

I always do 0 + 180 but would like to no where it derives from

Where does it ACTUALLY say to do 0 + 180
IS IT IN GN3 and is that, then compulsory

I know the readings etc
There also in the OSQ but cant see no mention of the 0+180 in there
