If it's any consolation to you,tomorrow i shall be scurrying about below a customers floor voids in sunny Bradford,(not an entirely appetising prospect!), but it's gotta be done. As for my previous post ,i make no apology, it was not meant to be scathing ,more like wakening you to the fact that you will have to persevere with the company that you have engaged to perform your boiler change. If you don't like it then lump it!

Can you imagine what its going to be like, because I can, and noway would they mess me about like that, and thats without the powerflush bulls*it.

I would sooner put the job on hold and wait a few weeks for someone else.

Ok the guys heading might have been a bit strong , but he has a genuine reason to moan. He has been given a timescale for completion which looks like has no chance of being met and thats not because they are hitting problems.
Not everyone can afford to take time off work as well as pay for new boiler and by sounds of it ,it is not being done right as DIA says how can someone powerflush without being there. Its terrible when people actually expect to get what they pay hard earned money for

No, you're making assumptions about what I think. If the OP is to be believed, his Contractors have behaved with appalling discourtesy. I wouldn't he surprised if someone gave them a slap.
Being manual workers doesn't excuse them behaving like animals.

What are you on about! I work as an Eng. If I say to a customer, I will be onsite for a set time. I am! I work to time scales.

Not looking for an argument here. It's a serious question - it mystifies me how some people go by recommendations and others don't, so I'd really like to understand how members of the public work out who to use.

Sounds like you've done the right thing there mate they sound like a right shower. It's worth the wait if you end up getting someone decent who'll do a proper job.

2) do the job
3) get paid and leave.

I think you should "whatdoiknow" and there's only one f in definition

They turn up to do a job for example a powerflush, you don't connect the machine and sod off,you have to keep opening and closing radiator valve as well as reversing the machine. Not doing the job properly is the work of an cowboy.

On that point alone I wouldn't have them back.
