Spaghetti shortage?

Last week on BBC R4 there was a new item about the shortage of spaghetti. This is mostly as a result of the rising price of wholesale wheat.

I noticed last week that ASDA had run out, presumably as a result of panic buying ahead of the budget?

On April the 1st they cut all the spaghetti trees down creating world wide panic.

the shortage of spaghetti has had a knock on effect.

it seems as though there is a glut/plethora of holes for spaghetti hoops too.

luckily fishermen are using the holes for their fishing nets.
