Queued vehicles take an average 6 secs to pay toll, then a mean of 20 secs to clear bridge... No waiting, just pay and go.

How long will it take for 100 queued vehicles to cross?

Show a formula for total time in minutes using 'n' for number of vehicles one '+' sign one divide '÷' sign and a pair of brackets "( )"

:D

total time=(n number of vehicles + lorries blocking the way divided by people who havnt got the right change)

I thought Tolls lived under a bridge and ate billy goats.

Nah, they are 'trolls' and they don't live under bridges anymore they live in Internet forums. We've got one in this very forum ya know.

It's o.k. joe, I don't think anyone holds it against you.

Billy Goats, head of microsoft :lol: :lol: :lol:

:idea: Total time in seconds = (n x 6 + 20) ÷ the number of people who don't have the right change, which is zero as they all go through with no waiting.

total = ( ( 100 * 6 ÷ number_of_parallel_toll_booths ) + 20 - 6 ) / 60

( 6n + 20 ) ÷ 60 mins

Av time each 6.2 secs.... Good rate at 50p per vehicle.

Average limited to 6secs + ( 20 ÷ n )
:roll:
