The fan seems to be running all the time even when no heat or hot water is being called for. When heat etc needed it works fine. Have just moved into the house and wonder whether constant running of the fan is usual. If not is there anything I can do as a diy solution.

this boiler has a constant slow running fan, its common on boilers with a fan and pilot.

I have a SwiftFlow 100 and as Micky says the fan runs constantly to vent the pilot and as a result will probably fail at some point costing over £120 to replace.. No I'm not bitter

keep it lubricated and it will last far longer.

Thanks for the info; how do I lubricate the fan please?

With oil can in hand and having removed the outer cover and turned off the power I am still wondering how to get at the fan to give it a bit of Saudi Arabian oil.
