BG330 (glowworm hxi) weird fault, On with no demand.

m a bit confused with the pcb's you have changed, have you changed the one GW recommended or not?

nickso...changed the lot...all 3 pcb's.

All i can think is there is something killing the new components as soon as it is turned on :?

Check the fan for loose connection. on the main pcb check the orange plug is not in this will bring the boiler on check the wiring loom for trapped/crushed wires. On the option board the middle pin should be volt free if not then it is sending power to switched live

Have had the loose connection before on the fan, it effects the hall effect senson and brings the fan at full speed, never had it actually fire up tho!

where did you get this info from?

scat, by coincidence i found out there is a GW on my patch that seems to be doing exactly the same thing, the job came to my terminal but i bumped it as there was obviously someone else dealing with it. ill ask him whats going on as it seems by the job notes he has fitted everything now and is waiting for the manufacturer to visit.

Nickso... cheers fella , i you find owt out lets us know.

I am at the point of getting GW to sort it. But if i can find out myself i can claim all the credit :D

Cheers.

I have admitted defeat and told her to get Glowworm to have a look at it

scat, i spoke that that bloke and he has also admitted defeat, GW are on their way sometime next week.

I have spoke to the customer again and they say its done it from day one but they have always been told that "its meant to do that".

Its been heating the bypass circuit 24/7 for 4 years

Cust is ringing me when GW have been so i will get back when they have sorted it (or not) cos this is a strange one.
