Hi, building an extension at the moment and the wall from which my flue went through has been moved further out by about 500mm so I need to extend my flue by this amount.
The flue goes up from the boiler about 500mm then a 90 degree elbow and then horizontally about 500mm but this will need to be about 1000mm.
The boiler is a Vaillant but not sure which model without closer inspection.
Is this a diy job as there doesn't seem much to it or is it specialist job?

Alternatively I could move the boiler over by 500mm as most of the pipework will have to be re-routed anyway.
Whats the pros and cons for both jobs?

Also are solder ring fittings easy to use, as I have quite a lot to do and they are quite a bit cheaper, only I have ever used compression or push fit?

If the easiest option is to move the boiler, then move it, if you have a plentifull supply of fittings then feel free to do what you want!!

how can you move a boiler and leave flue where it is

Because like I said, the outside wall has been moved out by about 500mm, so if I move the boiler across by 500mm then the flue will not need to be touched.
