myson compact cp61 pump

looks like i need a new pump , are there alternatives to buying the same pump ? screwfix do a couple of reasonably priced ones but how do you know if they are compatible ? what are the important things to compare ?

They're all the same ,well sort of,yours is a six meter head pump,pumps with a number five (i.e CP 53)on them are five meter head pumps.

Grundfos are the best,equivalent for you is the 15-60,however they are expensive. I usually go for the cheapo Myson ones (same as the compact I believe)at about half the price and guarantee them for a year.

BG fit the Myson ones which are branded as BG pumps.

Spag....If you start new postings you will get conflicting advice.

A standard pump will not fit in you Puma since the connections are not standard.

Are you sure you've screwed up the pump. With the boiler off unscrew the plastic hex and pull it towards you engaging the pump shaft. It should now rotate easily. With a cloth protecting the board run the boiler. The hex will spin..apply slight side pressure to bleed any air. Now switch off and push in and screw in the hex cap.

Otherwise you will need a similar pump...just change the motor head.

A company called Circulating Pumps do a multispeed pump head that should fit for less than half the price of the genuine pump.

Myson also does a head kit for Grundfos and Myson pumps cost is about £35+Vat,least I think it is Myson or it could be Ideal.

Bought one a while ago for an old Vokera Mynute 12-48 system boiler,worked a treat.

nope, they use grundfos pumps painted blue. the myson ones were rightly binned when they finally listened to 5 years of engineers telling them how **** they were.

even the silver cp multispeed head replacements have been binned in favour of a grundfos kit.
