It's your home made bung for lugged tank connectors.....when do I get my prize :D

or maybe not :(

You could be on the right track gasguru, are you using it as a puller for something Chris?

So the Anchor isn't being used for its intended purpose? It cannot be Chris if you say its 'not for fixing anything'.

He's got it. Did you see it somewhere else GG?
Works fine for 15mm tank connectors, needs a bigger lump of rubber for 22's.
Big flat rubber washer would work where there's no surface ridges on the tank connector.
APart from cannibalising a proper bung, anyone know of a bigger rubber dome?
Cistern drop valves are too big.

How about an inch or so length of thick hose of the correct diameter. With the penny washer and nut it should be able to be compressed enough to be airtight.

It's just come to me, exactly what would do it.

If I have any they'll be blue, but you can also get red white and yellow, but they're always black.

Don't worry Chris not seen it anywhere else but have you got your patent application in

It would have been useful a few years ago. Made the fatal mistake of changing a set of bath taps for a friend in a 4 storey block of flats.

All galvanised pipework, all gate valves seized, whacking great cistern on the roof. I couldn't bung it since the insides of the tank connectors were badly corroded. Your bung sealing on the front edge would probably have worked.

Ended up spending 6 or 7 hours on the job after I drained the lot down and cleared all the airlocks after re-filling

It is, is is similar to, a Fisher bolt as sold to be used to fix a hand basin to the wall.

I dont know why Chris, who primarily works on boilers, wants to get involved with anything to do with plumbing though!
