Hi guys, hope you're all well.
We've converted an existing commercial premises (workshops) into a new one (physiotherapy clinic). However we've come into a problem with the toilets!
Essentially the electrician who did the work wired the vent in the toilet from the light circuit. So...
Hello all, hope you're all well.
Just a quick one. I'm about to lay a laminate floor in a bedroom (simple square room). It's the first one I've laid, but I'm feeling confident and intend to listen to soft jazz whilst I do so...
However, I'm just mindful about the old *expansion*...
Evening all -
We're building an extension that has a door opening of about 8 feet going out onto our veranda, and am going round in circles about what sort of doors to have here!
Of course, we could have two french doors (with those demi panels on one side, or a larger panel on one side...
Thanks to all posters, I appreciate your support as ever.
I think we'll be looking at the Blum ones as suggested. They're not hyper expensive, and the they should go on well.
The project is going to be put together over a little bit of time, so we'll have the time to see what works and...
Evening all,
We're building an extension at the moment, and after falling off my chair when I looked at how much the 'hoochy-coochy sit down with the designer all delivered and fitted' kitchen was going to cost, I've decided to go for the Wickes 'take away' range (had a great chap who...
That's a good shout big-all, the extension we're planning is 40sq M - and the loft conversion is around 22sqM - so I think we're okay (unless I'm crucially mistaken!)
freddymercurystwin - I guess that's the question. There's nothing up there apart from a bed, and there's a sound staircase...
I did see something about a building control department not being able to issue a 'section 36' more than 28 days after building work has completed.
Surely this doesn't mean that there's nothing they could do though?

Afternoon everyone,
You're all clever souls on here, I wonder if someone could possibly steer me with some advice.
We moved into a small property in early 2002, it's a wooden framed bungalow, with two 'bedrooms' coming off a lounge (which then leads on to kitchen and bathroom).
The...
Thanks to everyone for the replies and comments.
We've responded with information regarding where the property boundary line is, as understood by the previous owners and the owners before them, and also before them. The reality is, that the boundary actually and has historically run not...
Morning chaps,
Regards the inner wall of the coal bunker - I didn't fully answer I think you're right. I put a bit on the post with the pictures.
But yes, the coal bunker is divided into two. And the split between it is, as mentioned, where the fence it. Bah.
Like I said, it could be...
To be fair when the fence was erected it was done with nothing but happy spirits! The previous owners (of both properties) got on famously, and they have been nothing but EXTREMELY supportive during this crisis.
You know what it's like; you don't intend for things to get sticky at any point...
Thanks once again for all of your input; which ever way this goes I'm grateful (and facinated) about everyone's views and knowledge.
Someone asked for a picture of the back of the property. You can't see the other side of the fence of course, with the flue. But it's about 18 inches from the...
