Yeah, trying to turn the nut down as you look at it, the same way as I turned the other union nut (tried the other way just the now as well :lol: ). Will try and get some heat on the nut to free it up. Cheers :)

Yeah, apologies for that, was just trying to do a rough calc as to potential man hours to give me a basis of a figure to work with. Guess I wont know until I get a couple more quotes. If they're all the same then I guess that's the going rate and I'll need to stump up!

Evening all. Kitchen refit planned, the old extractor fan was plugged into a socket which was high up on the wall (hidden by the cabinets). The new cooker hood has arrived and is not fitted a plug, to be honest, the socket location would mean that any plug is visible so I'd rather not go...

Thanks. My initial reaction was that the price was a bit high (can't take too long for an experienced plumber to swap in a new suite!). Hard to see it being more than ~20 hours work to be honest, unless of course I'm completely underestimating the complexity of it!! Will shop around some more.

Thanks, I had undone them before but didn't see much give in them so figured that I'd need to undo the impossible to reach ones. Undone the other ones again just now and the pipes came away no problem! That's enough for one night!! :)

Replacing the sink in the kitchen together with the taps (and the whole kitchen but that's by the by!). Anyway, I can see the bolts that are connecting the hot & cold feeds to the mixer tap but the hole underneath is about 4cm x 3cm and I'm completely at a loss as to how to get them undone...
